The big interview is tomorrow. Wish me luck! I need it.
So, about that... I suppose I should tell you the story. 'You' in this case being Cat, since my only other reader (i.e. Lisa) is busy getting married or some crap. I remember back in the day, when I used to have two, maybe even three times as many readers.
But that was back when I was funny.
Being funny requires an intense, stressful job. Those are the exact words I am least likely to ever use to describe my current job.
Where was I going with this? Right. Yes. So, boring job = bored, disinterested Sars.
So... I saw a post on the internal website (or the 'intranet' if you're so inclined). I thought it sounded quite interesting — in a challenging, intense and possibly even stressful way.
Blah, blah, blah. I decided to send an e-mail to the hiring manager. Just a quick introduction and casual inquiry. Suddenly I found myself having an hour-long, full-on interview.
And, boy oh boy, did I flub that interview!
Or so I thought...
Then at the end he asked about compensation and grade. I told him my current salary and level. I also said I was looking to progress to the next level up. And he said they didn't use that grade in his department, but he'd look into the possibility of the level beyond that.
Wait. Whuh-huh?
Then he said I needed to meet his boss next.
Imagine me shaking my head like a confused dog. Because I'm pretty sure I was.
The second interview is tomorrow. Who knows how that will go. And who knows how many more there will be if it goes well.
Hey, I am still a reader!!! Good luck on your interview!!

I'm still a reader too! I'm just a little behind on my RSS feeds. I hope the interview went well.

I read interview #2 post first... But nicely done with the flubbing of the first, which led to the second!
